Dangote acquires 20,000 vehicles to improve distribution

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement has acquired 20,000 additional vehicles to improve the distribution of its products across the country. The vehicles, made up of trucks, trailers and tippers, represent an investment of US$150m. UltraTech Cement receives approval to raise INR30bn

India’s UltraTech Cement has received approval to raise INR30bn (US$411.42m) through the issuance of US dollar-denominated bonds. The proceeds from the issuance are expected to be used to refinance existing rupee debt, with the remainder reserved for regular ongoing capital expenditure requirements and general corporate purposes. The bonds will be offered and sold within the US in one or more tranches.

Cemex announces pricing of US$1.75bn senior secured notes

Cemex SAB de CV announced the price of US$1.75bn of its 3.875 per cent senior secured notes due in 2031 and denominated in US dollars. The notes have a semi-annual interest rate of 3.875 per cent and mature on 11 July 2031. The notes are to be issued on 12 January 2021, subject to customary closing conditions. Cemex intends to use the proceeds of the offering for general corporate purposes.

Cemex announces plans for a US$1bn bond issue

Cemex has announced plans to issue US$1bn in senior notes to raise funds for general operations, including paying off debt, according to Reuters. The bonds will have a coupon of 5.2 per cent and mature in September 2030, the company said in a filing to the country’s stock exchange. The offer will close on 17 September. Fitch Ratings has assigned the secured notes a rating of ‘BB-’.

Nigeria’s Dangote Cement is seeking to raise up to NGN100bn (US$257.23m) from the bond market, under its NGN300bn debt issuance programme. The funds from the company’s first offering in the bond market would be used to refinance existing short-term debt used for cement expansion projects, working capital and other corporate purposes, according to This Day.

CRH issues new bonds

CRH has issued US$1.5bn of bond debt at a lower cost than expected, reports the Irish Independent. In total, it consists of a 10-year US$900m bond and a 30-year US$600m bond. Both bonds were approximately 200 basis points below initial pricing indications which suggests the level of demand, according to Robert Gardiner, Davy Analyst. The funds are expected to be used to finance the acquisition of Ash Grove Cement, which was purchased last year.

Siam Cement PCL, Thailand's largest industrial conglomerate, said on Wednesday its 4Q14 net profit rose 11 per cent due mainly to improving margin for its petrochemical business despite an inventory loss.
